LFW: SEPT22
After two years of an unintentional break from fashion weeks, I was very happy that I could join in the London Fashion Week again last month. I’ve received few invitations from the independent brands through email but sadly, I couldn’t make it to all of them as they were clashing with the day of me being one of the volunteers for the catwalk show organised by CREATIVETH.
The event was held indoor at Twickenham Stadium and thankfully, I’ve managed to get into the building just fine and just in time. Truth be told, the organisers weren’t as friendly as I’ve hoped them to be but I’ve met worst, so I was ok with having to stand and waiting (as they told me to) for almost an hour at the beginning. Not to mention, I was the only Muslim hijabi there as well. To say I didn’t feel welcome would be an understatement, but I know better to understand that the fashion industry is not for the soft-hearted soul (not that I am any tough either) and still, I thank them for giving me the opportunity to volunteer.
The event started at 5:30 p.m. until about 9 p.m. Though it had to end quite abruptly (and dramatically as one of the designers wasn’t satisfied with how their specific show was being handled), I would say it was actually a fun evening. The guests were seen to be enjoying their times and the other photographers were literally having a good laugh with each other. Oh, and there was also a proposal going on as well during the show!
The rest of my pictures from the event have been uploaded on my gallery. Do check them out and thank you for reading this post!
Think happy thoughts!
Love, Ain
