Cafe Visits in January

Not that I go to a lot of cafes every month, but I’ve decided to create this little segment for the cafes that I’ve visited. Minus the rare occasions when I couldn't be bothered or really couldn't get the chance to, I’ve never failed to take pictures at almost every cafe that I’ve been to. It could be pictures of the whole moment while I was in it or just a picture of the cup of coffee I was having, but there’s always a piece of evidence, so here we are!

Kasa And Kin

Location: 52-53 Poland St, London W1F 7NQ

Kasa and Kin is a Filipino restaurant with a touch of cafe on the side. It was honestly the counter of desserts and trays of pandesal (Filipino bread roll) that were tempting me from the outside.

I ordered an ube pandesal with cream cheese filling at the counter. It wasn’t until I was brought to sit at one of the tables and was given a menu, I was like “oh, this is a restaurant” in my head. It was silly of me, but the staff were all nice and made me feel welcome.

I also ordered an ube latte, which sadly taste just like a normal latte but I had the ube pandesal warmed up and it was delicious. Overall, I’ve had a really nice me time. I would definitely take my siblings and friends there next time!

Orée

Location: 147 Kensington High St, London W8 6SU

Orée has quite several branches throughout Central London. My first visit was the one at Kensington High Street and I’ve walked past it way too many times, but only really been in there twice so far.

I love how it has so many good looking choices of pastries and desserts. Just looking through its window in the morning could make my day.

Caramel latte is always my go to drink. One time I had a pistachio bun, and the other time I had a nutella croissant packed away (hence no picture) and both were really good!

GAIL’S BAKERY

Location: London

Whenever I was in London, I would see writing in red that says Gail’s on a white background signboard, almost everywhere I go. I’m not sure how many branches they have in London, but most of the time, it’s packed with people. I think I’ve tried some of their pastries before but only recently that I've developed a liking towards cinnamon buns, and so I’ve decided to try Gail’s cinnamon bun. And oh my god, it was the best one I’ve tasted yet and how I wish I would have tried it years ago!

CAKE & BINGSOO

Location: 39 High St, New Malden KT3 4BY

I’ve mentioned this one in my previous blog entry. My brother and I had found this cafe while strolling along New Malden and being fans of all Korean things, we were really excited to try the bingsoo especially!

So we ordered a mango bingsoo and even though it was freezing outside at the time, I remember how super delicious it was. It wasn’t too sweet and they’re pretty generous with the mango pieces as well.

My brother also ordered a slice of their chocolate cake and iced black sugar latte. And I’ve ordered a cup of latte for myself. We were very happy with everything we’ve ordered.

Cake & Bingsoo was quite a big cafe and I loved the atmosphere. They had a 4-cut photobooth installed and we were planning to go with our sister next time, as I’m also looking forward to try their bungeoppang (filled Korean fish shape pastry) and strawberry latte!

Think happy thoughts!

Love, Ain
